3DPersonnel's client is a large main contractor with projects through-out the UK, they have undertaken large projects consisting of residential, hotels, commercial and industrial. They have been undertaking operations since the early 1960's and through-out this time they have established a reputation for valuing their staff while delivering complicated projects.

3DPersonnel's client is currently seeking to recruit highly experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor, the successful candidate will undertake the construction of a large scale Hospitality project for a well know company. The project will have a value of £35million and will consist of two multi storey buildings of 100,000 Sq ft in to total.

Roles and responsibilities

o Review Commercial Risk, Value Management and Cost Control paperwork.
o Commercial management of subcontractors.
o To authorise the placement of contracts, subcontracts materials and plant orders.
o A sound working knowledge of various forms of contracts including NEC & JCT.
o Knowledge of construction & contract law and various forms of conditions of contract
o Manage time & workloads for yourself & any "reports" in a structured manner
o Provide commercial advice to the site team in connection with all project issues
o Deal with change management including adherence to the Programme "established approach"
o Take part in meetings & discussions regarding project performance & to provide commercial input into project strategy
o Produce monthly cost, valuation and cash flow reports.
o Attend and provide input at start up and close out meetings.
o Monitor cost of site resources.
o Maintain effective communications with project management.
o Provide advice on any contractual claims
o Understanding the implications of Health & Safety Regulations

The successful applicant must:

-Have at least 3 years recent experience as a QS with a main contractor.
-Possess excellent mathematical & accounting skills, be analytic, organised, confident, self motivated, be computer literate and be able to work individually or as part of a busy team.
-Be able to read architectural drawings and have an appreciation of construction processes.
-Enhanced knowledge of construction procedures and work methods.
-Complies with and helps to enforce standard policies and procedures.
-Be well presented and customer focused, a good command of the English language and good telephone manner is required.
